The Manitoba Society of Artists (MSA) 79th Annual Open Juried Exhibition was officially opened by the Winnipeg Art Gallery's Andrew Kear, May 14th at 2:30 pm. The exhibition is being held at The Bay, 6th floor and runs through June 12.
This year there were 100 artists submitting, of which 74 were from Winnipeg, and 26 from rural Manitoba, for a total of 231 works entered for consideration (and juried!). 73 artists were accepted for a total exhibit of 104 works.
MSA President and MC, Bonnie Taylor and Mr. Andrew Kear presented the various awards to the following:

MSA First Award – Jean Wiens – Mental Telepathy # 1

MSA Second Award – Anne Layman – Burning Light

MSA Third Award – Luba Olesky – Memories of Grand Beach

Brian J. Hyslop Memorial Award – Madeleine Barg – A Short Bath

Lynn Sissons Watercolour Award – Ruth Kamenev – Midnight Blue

W. Cliff Packer Memorial Award – Hildegard Sen – Roseau River Boating

Honourable Mention – Lorraine MacVicar – Now and Then

Honourable Mention – John Mills – 4H Event on a Hot Day

Honourable Mention – Judith Panson – Spruce in the Moonlight

Honourable Mention – Leo Simoens – Jack Pine Ridge

Honourable Mention – Alison Taylor – Shadow Green
