Heather Robbins Gallery
Heather attributes much of her talent to the support she received from her family. Parents, John and Emma Robbins, recognized and fostered her talent at a very young age. She remembers childhood gifts of paints and sketchbooks.
Heather continued to paint and sketch into adulthood, joining the Nanton Art Club in her late twenties. Although she was kept busy raising her two children and helping her husband, Randy, on their cattle ranch, she managed to enter Art Competitions and Art Showsin and around the area.
In 1991 Heather took part in a water colour workshop thru the Federation of Canadian Artists, in Victoria. Under the instruction of Allessandra Bitelli, Carl Dalilo, David Maclaydan and Stephen Quiller, she experimented with mixing colour and new painting techniques. In 2004, Heather attended a wildlife painting workshop facilitated by Terry Isaac in Penticton, B.C.
After moving to Rocanville, Saskatchewan, 2002, Heather joined the Back Roads Art Guild and found their support and influence a tremendous gift to her life as an artist.
Heather moved to Winnipeg in 2007 and in 2009 became a member with the Manitoba Society of Artists.
Heather finds incredible inspiration in the natural prairie world and strives to capture her love of wild plants and animals on canvas.
Two of Heather's paintings were chosen to grace the covers of the Saskatchewan nature publication "Blue Jay"in the fall of 2003.
In March of 06 Heather's painting "Becker's Team" was featured on the cover of the March/April 2006 issue of "Show Trail" magazine, the official publication of the Saskatchewan Horse Federation. Heather's Website is www.heatherrobbins.com |
