Faye Hall Gallery

Discovering portrait painting at a young age, Faye Hall trained in advertising design/illustration at Red River College. For the most part, painting was put aside for 25 years. Newly widowed, and with an emptied nest, Faye switched careers later in life to producing concerts for local singer/songwriter Steve Bell at his Winnipeg indie record label, Signpost Music. Many of her early portraits were inspired by photos taken by Steve Bell on trips to India and Ethiopia with the Canadian Foodgrains Bank.

Administrator on weekdays, Faye releases the pent-up artist within on evenings and weekends. With the support of her new husband Darrell and assisted by refresher painting classes at the WAG, 2008 to 2011 resulted in a prolific portfolio of expressive new portraits ranging from realist to abstract. Faye works mostly in oil and acrylic, and her visionary work is charged with energy and bright color.
